RHODODENDRON 'Llenroc'A hardly, small-leafed variety with lovely, soft pink and yellow flowers in May. The "mother" plant in our garden always gets rave reviews when in bloom! Plus, as an extra bonus, it gives us a brilliant display of fall color, turning a vibrant orange-red. Slow growing, reaching 3' x 3' in 8 years. Full sun or light shade.

MALUS 'Molten Lava'
Flowering Crab Apple

Halesia carolina
Halesia carolinaA very beautiful medium sized tree, usually up to 30-40 feet, with clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers dangling from the branches in May. Attractive bark is very smooth, a dark gray with lighter streaks.

Also look for H. monticola, native to the mountains of North Carolina & Georgia. It grows a bit larger than H. carolina with large white bells, a conical habit and rounded head. H. monticola 'Rosea' is a selection that stops visitors to the nursery in their tracks when in bloom. A showy specimen that makes a stunning statement.
