In spring, summer, and fall, I sometimes work at redesigning parts of the winter garden. I think of it as an ongoing process that will never be finished. Right now I'm working to add maximum interest to my garden in summer and fall.

One of the real delights of a winter garden is that during the season when the garden shines brightest, there's virtually nothing to do in the way of maintenance. There's no watering, no weeding, and no deadheading. All you have to do is look out the window and enjoy it.
