TIPS:
Stuff the pots with as much plant material as possible – to the point of trimming root balls to fit more in the soil

Start with an application of granular fertilizer and establish a regular liquid feeding schedule to meet your plant’s needs

Plant containers in groups and vary the size and height of pots

Change plantings on a seasonal basis for variety and added punch

Mix annuals with perennials, tropicals and woodies for added interest

Don’t be afraid to try new and bold combinations of colors and textures

Big, tall and bold can be good when it comes to container plantings

Start off with the right soil mix – don’t take short cuts here

Cut back thugs and ramblers and replace under performers to keep things fresh

Take cuttings, dig up plants for indoor storage or mulch heavily to overwinter plants for the following season
