AMELANCHIER
A wonderful group of highly valuable landscape trees for woodland's edge. A. laevis is a striking small tree with profuse white flowers and bronze new growth in early spring. A grandiflora offers larger flowers, brilliant fall color, tight gray bark and edible fruit, making it a four season plant. Amelanchier is a plant well worth searching for. Beautiful gray-barked multi-stemmed shrub, with new leaves emerging reddish and pubescent, and 2" clusters of pure white flowers in early spring. Tolerates wet soil well. One of our most widely used trees for woodland and shade conditions.

FOTHERGILLA gardenii
Dwarf Fothergilla
A superb selection from the Mount Airy Arboretum in Cincinnati, an interspecific cross between F. gardenil and F. major. Attractive dark green foliage turns a striking yellow, orange and red in the fall. Abundant 2" white bottlebrush flowers, scented of honey, appear in April to mid May. Matures to 3-5 feet, and keeps a nice, mounding growth habit.

MAGNOLIA denudata 'Elizabeth'
A very unusual yellow magnolia hybridized at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Becomes a medium sized shrubby tree, with striking butter yellow flowers in May.

DAPHNE genkwa
Striking lavender-blue flowers cover the plant in May before the leaves emerge. Prefers full sun and drier soils, where it will grow 3-4 feet.

ACER palmatum Dissectum 'Atropurpureum'
Laceleaf Maple
Deep red in spring, becoming green as the summer progresses, followed by striking golden fall foliage. Very delicate looking, mounding plants with finely dissected foliage. Beautiful cascading over rocks, as lawn specimens, or anywhere you want an outstanding plant for all seasons.
